REGION OF STUDY :: Chios island

The Prefecture of Chios with its capital Chios is located in the North-Eastern group of Aegean islands, between the Prefectures Samos and Lesvos. It is extended at the same time to the Minor Asia coast and is separated from the peninsula of Eritrea with the strait of Chios (a 6 mile width). Her geographic place is of particular importance as it is found in the axis Athens-Smyrni and thus it plays important role in the communications of European Markets with many promising Minor & Central Asian ones. MUNICIPALITY CHIOS 
The older municipality of Prefecture and most complete than opinion of personnel and equipment. It is found in Eastern roughly in the centre of island. Has the bigger population 22.836 residents one and unfolds round the city of Chios and in geographic plans includes the harbour of Chios, the airport and all almost her services of island.

MUNICIPALITY IONIAS 
The Municipality Ionias became afterwards the unification of Municipalities Anemonas and Jonias. It is constituted by 11 municipal apartments and total 16 settlements and is found in the Eastern and Southern department of island. In the Kalljmasia is found the seat of town hall where are accomodated the economic and administrative services. It has 4.728 residents.

MUNICIPALITY PSARAS. 
the Psaras constitute a cluster of islands and rocky islands that are found in westwards Chios. In the bigger island (that it is named also Psaras) is found also the homonym historical settlement with 433 people that is also the seat of Municipality.

DIMOS OINOYSSES 
Oinousses are found north-easternly Chios and are a cluster of small islands. The synjoljki' extent of Oinousses is 17.5 square kilometres and the population 1.043 residents.

MUNICIPALITY MASTIHOHORION 
The Municipality Mastjhohorion finds itself in southern utmost the island. It has population 4.793 residents, it resulted from the conjunction of communities Armolia , Kalamotis Fatherly, Vessas, Firs, Lithium, Mesta, Pyrgy and Olympuses. Seat of Municipality is the Pyrgy.

MUNICIPALITY AMANIS
It is found in the VD of Chios and is constituted by the communities Voljssos', Pyramas, Parparjas, Holes, Melanjoys, Ag. Gallas, Nenitoyrjon, Koyroynon, Leptopodon, Keramoy, Fluvial, Pjspjloyntas, Plants, Kipoyrjes and Djeyhw'n. Seat of Municipality Amanis is the Voljssos and has 2569 residents.

MUNICIPALITY OMIROYPOLIS 
The Municipality Omiroypolis finds itself in Easternly the island and in north the Municipality Chios his population is 7.100 residents. It became afterwards the unification of Municipality Vronta'doy with the communities Lagkadas, Sykjadas, Karyes and Sjdirountas. 

MUNICIPALITY KARDAMILON 
Local authority that constituted the Municipality Kardamilon they are exi's:D. Kardamilon, Mr Amadon, Mr Vjkion, Mr Kampja, Mr Pjtyountos, Mr Spartountos. It is found in north-easternly Chios it has total extent 182.480 (str) and population 2822. MUNICIPALITY OF SAINT MINAS 
The Municipality of Saint Minas was recommended after conjunction of communities Cymjanw'n and Neohwrj'oy. It is found roughly in the centre of island, in his Eastern side and is smallest in extent from the ten. Katojki'taj from 2.682 residents laj has seat the Thimiana.

MUNICIPALITY KAMPOHORON
Seat of Municipality Kampohoron is Halkeios in the centre of Chios. It emanated from the conjunction of communities Vasilioniko, Dafnona, Vavy'lwn, Ververato, Ag. Georgjon Sykoysi, Zyfja and Halkejoys. Has 3.284 residents and seat the Halkeios.
